Ed graduated from Lafayette College in 1961. He was commissioned a Naval officer in 1962. After duty in Newport, Rhode Island and Naples, Italy, he earned his wings as a Naval Aviator in 1967. He flew carrier-based combat missions in Vietnam in 1968 and was awarded an Air Medal for combat flights. He left active duty in 1970, eventually  retiring in the Naval Reserve in 1981 as a Lieutenant Commander.

After graduation from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management (With Distinction, #2 in his class of 174) (www.thunderbird.edu) in 1972, he joined American International Group (AIG) and managed overseas operations in Jamaica, Greece, Aruba, Iran and Saudi Arabia. Moving to the Philadelphia area in 1981, he established and taught International Business at Immaculata College, while growing his insurance-related clientele. Meanwhile, he has worked in the insurance brokerage market, where he currently is Managing Partner of Broker Resource Center in Paoli (www.brcpaoli.com).

Ed is Past President of Chester County Association of Life Underwriters (ALU) (1995-6), and has served as Delaware Valley ALU RVP and President of the 3000-member Pennsylvania Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (2002-3) (www.naifa-pa.org). He chaired the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (www.naifa.org) "Best Practices" Committee, taught LUTC courses and has written numerous professional articles, including some for "Advisor Today", the magazine for NAIFA's 70,000 members.

He has assumed various community leadership roles including President of DuPortail House, Chair of the Paoli 250th anniversary celebration and Board Associate on the Lafayette College Board (www.lafayette.edu). In 2004, he received the Lafayette College Alumni Association Service Award for lifetime volunteerism.  He has served on the initial alumni board of The American College (www.theamericancollege.edu) where he received his Master of Science in Financial Services degree in 2001. He is past president of the Paoli Business & Professional Association (www.paolibusiness.com), which honored him as "Citizen of the Year" in 2006. In 2007, he was presented with the "President's Cup",  the highest honor of NAIFA - Greater Philadelphia for "sustained meritorious activity in the life insurance industry, conducted in an ethical and honorable way". Ed currently serves as Vice Chair of the Chester County Parks & Recreation board and president of the Front Porch Trust in Paoli.

Ed has two children, Brent, a consultant in the DC area, and Cynthia, who is a manager with Maggiano's in Philadelphia.
